swallows on the power lines
nearly Beethoven
Gathering of Swallows is a hand painted watercolour painting in landscape format by the artist Karen Kaspar. Swallows have gathered on three power lines in front of a blue sky with white clouds. The silhouettes of the birds in dark indigo blue stand out clearly against the sky. Some of the swallows are sitting on the wires and appear to be having a chat. Others are flying in to attend the meeting. Others are already taking off.
This work, a combination of painting and haiku, is a joint project by Karen Kaspar (© art and artwork) and Marjolein Rotsteeg (© Haiku).
A haiku is a traditional Japanese poetic form consisting of three lines.
Here the watercolour painting has been supplemented with the haiku in English. In my portfolio there is also a variant with the poem in Dutch (see album 'Haiku and Painting Dutch'). The painting is also available without text (see album 'Birds').
You can find more paintings with haiku and poems in my albums 'Haiku and Painting English' and 'Haiku and Painting Dutch'. New works are constantly being added to the albums. So keep checking back from time to time!
