This artwork is part of our series of digitally manipulated portraits - Changing Faces. An ode to the old master painters. The original portrait Rembrandt van Rijn painted of his wife Saskia (Saske) van Uylenburgh. Rembrandt completed the painting after her untimely death and kept the painting in his own possession. However, lack of money forced him to sell the portrait to collector friend Jan Six.
Our collage-like digital processing has created an image that would not have been there with the application of traditional painting techniques alone.
HOME IS WHERE THE ART IS
"Atelier Kunst & Ko is the collaboration of Leiden based artists Peter and Sven de Ru. The graphic style of son Sven complements the artistic background of father Peter. The cooperation is inspiring and leads to new insights in our art. The different approaches lead to artworks with an added value. What that added value is we leave up to you. Just like the choice of which work of art to make your house a home.
