A dead tree on the Noorderheide near Vierhouten. The tree has a beautiful characteristic skeleton that stands out in the emptiness of the heathland, which is enhanced by the fog on the day the photo was taken.
The tree stands at the beginning of the nature reserve and thus seems to be keeping watch, hence the title: "The Keeper''.
The tree is left standing because it gives new life a chance and it is a perfect lookout post for the birds of prey in the nature reserve.
