The steep cliff served as the border of the Roman Empire. This separation was made in the 2nd century by Emperor Hadrian. With the aim of keeping the barbarians out. This photo was taken in northern England, at this exact location several tribes from the north have moved further into the country. At the place where the original inhabitants of this area crossed the border, there is now a beautiful tree. Also, this sunny meadow is still grazed by beautiful english cows. So this enchanting landscape has experienced many special things in the past 2000 years. Personally I find it very impressive that nature always calms itself after chaos. It was an honour to walk in nature here and very nice to be able to share this wonderful experience.
