About "Traboule Interior in Lyon - Architectural Photography"

About the artwork

Vieux Lyon is the old historical district of Lyon, France. Today considered as a Unesco World Heritage Site, Lyon has a rich history related to the silk production and the Canuts (former silk workers).

Traboules, on the other hand, are passageways and corridors between old buildings. They connect several streets. A way of getting closer to the history and culture of Lyon is through their traboules, because they are related to the Canuts in the 1800s. They used to carry their goods from the river, to the markets in the city center walking through these covered passageways. Traboules played an important role also in the Canut revolt.

Many years later, Lyon being the center of the french resistance in World War II, traboules served also the purpose of hidding from the enemy.

This black and white picture was taken in the courtyard of one of the many traboules of Lyon. They are often dark places but still somehow charming and enchanting, and without a doubt part of the local identity. Taken from below, this point of view allows to see details of the architecture, ending on right angles on the roofs.

At Art Heroes we do not mass produce or keep stock, but make to order. Your artwork is made with passion by experienced craftsmen and is on average ready for shipment in 7 business days. How will the package be sent?

We work with several carriers. Couriers can also be used for large or fragile packages.

Canvas are securely packed in plastic bubble wrap and cardboard. Wallpaper and posters are sent in sturdy tubes.

A courier collects the package from us and takes the package to a depot where it usually stays overnight. The day after it is collected and delivered to your home or office. We work with courier services that specialise in handling fragile parcels.

Not at home? Then the delivery driver will leave a note and an appointment can be made to schedule a new delivery.

Unfortunately, there remains a chance that something can happen during a shipment. In the unlikely event that your parcel has been damaged during transit, please take a picture of the entire item, the damage, the entire package and a picture of the shipping label. Send these photos to us by email and we will solve the problem without delay.
