A composite image of multiple photos's for the highest resolution and best dynamic range.
Taken with a Canon full frame camera and a 16 mm wide-angle lens, placed on a tripod in the water stream.
Used aperture f/10. The shutter speed was chosen precisely so that you can see the movement of the falling water, but not so that it becomes streaks. This creates a detail where you can see the power of the water even more clearly. You can almost hear the water gurgling.
In the foreground, on the other hand, you can see the tranquillity and transparency of the water. This contrast enhances the overall image and the feeling evoked by the waterfall.
The high resolution makes the image particularly suitable for large prints such as photo wallpaper, but it will certainly look great on acrylic and metal.
Location is on Sao Miguel, one of the beautiful archipelago of the Azores (Portugal).
We are both biologists and through our profession rolled into photography. Since 2010 we have been making commissioned images. These are often reportages, but also custom photography. For example, for on the wall.
Part of this we make available through Werkaandemuur.
