One of the 19 windmills in Kinderdijk. Netherlands is famous for its windmills. Today there are still over 1000 in our country present. Nowhere in the world you can find many windmills together as in the village of Kinderdijk. Around 1740 his firm built here 19 mills to maintain its present well and are still in operation.
The mills drain the excess water from the Alblasserwaard polders - which is a lot lower than sea level are - to the naastgeleven river Lek. The river carries in its turn the water back down to the (North) zee.In 1997, the windmills of Kinderdijk put on the World Heritage list of UNESCO
" It makes me happy to create memories "
I love to photograph in the French or Dutch countryside. Forests, countryside or by the sea. But also cities, towns and villages (especially in France) are my favorites.
Best regards ! Yvonne..
