At the Hard Rock Hotel Amsterdam, there I was. And suddenly, that light just above it, that special design of the wallpaper, and that Fender amplifier. I saw it right in front of me. In black and white. A blues-like feeling. That's how it came across to me.
I find it special that despite the fact that it is a collection of relatively simple objects, and only one light source, every time you look at it you can see different things. And everyone will have different experiences and feelings. Not only the design of the wallpaper, but also the styling of the room as a whole struck me. There were elements from the 50s and 60s, but also art deco (the building of the former Hotel Americain is ideally suited for this). A sense of bygone modernity. That is how I would put it. This is confirmed by design from earlier times and the use of new materials.
