A sunny morning in my home town of Bad Oeynhausen. It’s spring and the weather is perfect for walking your dog through the town centre and the neighbouring spa gardens.

Over the course of about an hour, various passers-by walked through the frame with their dogs on lead. In the collage created afterwards, only the dogs have found their place, without their human companions and visually freed from their leashes.

Each animal is immortalised twice. In this respect, the image invites you to embark on a journey of discovery.

Of course, a little dog lifting its leg against the tree is a must! The view of the image is rounded off by the dog on the right in the foreground, looking into the camera.

The location was deliberately chosen for its attractive historic building facades. Our little fairy-tale museum is housed in the building on the right. The composition of the image is rounded off by the beautiful trees in the fresh green of spring and the light blue sky, in which a few decorative little clouds are also drifting slowly.

The collage is an absolute must-have for dog lovers.

For those interested in the technical side: the image was created without AI. Each individual animal represents a separate photograph, which has been combined with the other shots to form the final piece. Dog owners and dog leads have been retouched manually.

During the shoot, it was important that the weather and lighting conditions remained virtually unchanged. Moreover, it remained to be seen until the end of the session whether the dogs would be attractively positioned within the frame. This is because there is only limited scope for correcting this aspect during subsequent editing on the computer.

The photograph was published in the local press. A dog owner promptly got in touch after spotting their pet in the collage.
