Alain Gaymard, photography as a passion …
Confucius said, ‘Choose a job you love, and you’ll never have to work a day in your life.’ That’s a quote that suits Alain Gaymard perfectly.
‘Somewhat against my will, yet without regret and to my great delight, that’s the advice I followed. Indeed, originally a photographer by passion, I subsequently made it my profession. I have been practising photography since the days of film and ‘converted’ quite naturally to digital. Although my working techniques have evolved with the digital age, black and white has been a constant from my beginnings to the present day. Essentially, I organise my exhibitions around a theme and plan my travels accordingly. As a committed photographer and generous artist, I am interested in the world of horse racing, travel and the evolution of my craft.” These are the words of the photographer introducing himself to us.
An artist with a unique vision,
Alain Gaymard’s work offers us a unique visual and aesthetic world. His photographs are recognisable by their vivid colours and artistic blurring. The artist presents us with a dreamlike world, taking the viewer on a journey not only through a broad chromatic palette but also into fantastical, intriguing, picturesque and poetic realms.
