About Arthur Batenburg
My name is Arthur Batenburg and I have been working as a photographer for over twenty years now.
I have been fascinated by nature ever since I was a child. The Dutch landscape, in particular, continues to inspire me. Cloudy skies, shifting light and the changing seasons ensure that no two moments are ever the same.
Through my photography, I try to capture that special atmosphere: familiar landscapes, but always seen at a unique moment. The Wadden Islands hold a special place in my heart. The tranquillity, the space and the ever-changing landscape make these islands an inexhaustible source of inspiration for me.
I was also impressed from an early age by the extraordinary wildlife on the African continent. I count myself fortunate to have been able to photograph so much wildlife over the course of some twenty years, particularly in South Africa. Encounters with animals in their natural habitats have not only made a profound impression on me, but also form an important part of my photographic work.
