About Atsje Straatsma

After studying Social Geography at the University of Groningen, I worked in IT for many years. In 2006 I changed course and until 2010 I studied photography at the Photo Academy in Groningen and Amsterdam.
My specialty is landscape photography, in town or country. Often there are no people on my photos, but mostly traces of people are clearly visible. I also like to photograph documentaries (e.g. company reports) and portraits. I prefer to work with natural light and let people in their natural surroundings come into their own. And every now and then I make some abstract excursions.
Our lives are so hectic that we ignore so many beautiful things. With my photographs I want to dwell on the ordinary, which is special because every person is unique and tells a story.

What are the delivery times?

At Art Heroes we do not mass produce or keep stock, but make to order. Your artwork is made with passion by experienced craftsmen and is on average ready for shipment in 7 business days. Details on the exact delivery date will be sent after placement of the order. Depending on the shipping country the following delivery times apply:

Is your order a gift for someone? We can create you a gift voucher that displays the artwork(s) you ordered, so you have something to give while the artwork is being printed. Just send us an e-mail and we’ll take care of it.

How will the package be sent?

We work with several carriers, mainly UPS and DHL (Depending on the country where it is delivered, this may vary). Couriers can also be used for large or fragile packages.

Canvas are securely packed in plastic bubble wrap and cardboard. Wallpaper and posters are sent in sturdy tubes.

A courier collects the package from us and takes the package to a depot where it usually stays overnight. The day after it is collected and delivered to your home or office. We work with courier services that specialise in handling fragile parcels.

Not at home? Then the delivery driver will leave a note and an appointment can be made to schedule a new delivery.

Unfortunately, there remains a chance that something can happen during a shipment. In the unlikely event that your parcel has been damaged during transit, please take a picture of the entire item, the damage, the entire package and a picture of the shipping label. Send these photos to us by email and we will solve the problem without delay.
