About Beyond the Frame | Christine Voigtländer

Under the theme ‘Beyond the Frame’, I focus my attention on what is often overlooked: unusual perspectives, small details and the quiet, surprising moments on the fringes of the obvious. For many years, I have been fascinated by the search for special subjects that only reveal themselves at second glance.

In my photographs, I capture impressions that I discover whilst out walking, hiking and on cultural excursions. I am particularly fascinated by the unexpected stories, structures and atmospheres that lie hidden beyond the actual subject of the photograph. My images invite you to look more closely and experience the familiar from a new perspective.

For me, ‘Beyond the Frame’ means finding beauty in the hidden and bringing to light moments that are easily overlooked.
