About Elisabeth Donkers

Elisabeth Donkers (1975) works as a collage artist with Mixed Media. Paper and textile are her favourite materials: preferably with a history. Discarded posters are torn apart to create a new image and buttons from Grandma's sewing box are given a new meaning in the collage.


"Circling" is the subject that always inspires Elisabeth. This verb stands for everything that develops through repetition. It symbolises the course of a human life and the family tree that continues to grow in a family. At the same time it also encompasses the turning of the earth so that every day the sun rises and every year the seasons change.
