I am an amateur photographer and visual artist with a broad interest in photography, drawing and painting. My work moves between capturing and imagining: photographs are often the starting point for drawings or paintings, in which I reinterpret and render images in depth.
For over 20 years, I have regularly visited Mexico, a country that has greatly inspired me with its colours, culture and expressive art tradition. The work of artists like Diego Rivera and Frida has had a lasting influence on my way of seeing and creating. This influence is reflected in my use of colour, symbolism and themes.
My work is intuitive and personal, with photography and painting reinforcing each other. Translating photographs into drawings or paintings creates space for emotion, imagination and one's own interpretation of the original moment.
