I was born in 1954 in Medan, Indonesia. 1958 we moved to Holland and spent my youth in Hilversum.
In that period I photographed a lot with my father. He had a Rollicord, in which a roll had to be made of 6 by 6 for a maximum of 12 pictures. Everything had to be set by hand.
On holidays we could only take a maximum of 24 photos and the use of a flash cost 1 guilder. In that time I learned that you had to prepare a photo very well and I still benefit from that.
After high school I started studying electrical engineering in Delft. At that time I was also a member of a photo club with its own darkroom.
After my studies I ended up at KPN and had a very pleasant time there. After being stationed in Stockholm and New York I finally moved to the metropolis of Scheveningen (this is not a writing error; you live on Scheveningen, not in Scheveningen) and I don't plan to leave here anymore either.
Now that I'm retired I'm going to dedicate myself entirely to photography, besides tennis and travelling. I follow many courses and workshops and also work a lot with photoshop. At the moment I am building my own studio.
My field of interest in photography is, as you can see on the site, very broad. I myself have a great preference for the combination of photography and photoshop.
