About Gert J ter Horst

Naast mijn werk als hoogleraar in het UMCG ben ik een enthousiast natuurfotograaf. Die interesse is niet vreemd omdat ik bioloog ben en (als boerenzoon) altijd al een voorliefde voor de natuur heb gehad. Ik ben als tiener begonnen met een analoge camera maar daar beleefde ik niet zoveel plezier aan als nu met het digitale spul. Ik heb jarenlang zelf zwart-wit foto's ontwikkeld en daarmee leuke composities gemaakt als onderdeel van mijn werk als neurobioloog; voor wetenschappelijke publicaties heb je foto's nodig die we met de microscoop maakten. Ook hiervoor geldt dat een goede compositie en scherpte de kansen op publicatie vergroot. Met Photoshop kun je tegenwoordig veel aanpassen maar alles begint met een goede scherpe foto waarin het meeste klopt. Ik houd niet van het betere knip- en plakwerk. Mijn foto's maak ik in RAW formaat.

Is your order a gift for someone? We can create you a gift voucher that displays the artwork(s) you ordered, so you have something to give while the artwork is being printed. Just send us an e-mail and we’ll take care of it.

How will the package be sent?

We work with several carriers, mainly UPS and DHL (Depending on the country where it is delivered, this may vary). Couriers can also be used for large or fragile packages.

Canvas are securely packed in plastic bubble wrap and cardboard. Wallpaper and posters are sent in sturdy tubes.

A courier collects the package from us and takes the package to a depot where it usually stays overnight. The day after it is collected and delivered to your home or office. We work with courier services that specialise in handling fragile parcels.

Not at home? Then the delivery driver will leave a note and an appointment can be made to schedule a new delivery.

Unfortunately, there remains a chance that something can happen during a shipment. In the unlikely event that your parcel has been damaged during transit, please take a picture of the entire item, the damage, the entire package and a picture of the shipping label. Send these photos to us by email and we will solve the problem without delay.
