My name is Patrick Robinn and I am a photographer. I would like to tell you what photography means to me. As far as I am concerned, a picture very often has a metaphorical value. The name of my shovel is inspired by this. For me, photography means experiencing a personal feeling. Through the transmission of images from the present and from history, we can enjoy nostalgia and happy anticipation.
According to my experience, photography encompasses: emotions and feelings that speak to us and can move us. Surprisingly, photographic images can also bring us to horror and amazement. For several years, I have been interested in photography. I often went out and photographed, mainly special places and buildings in Rotterdam. It is the city where I grew up with great pleasure, but not born. My origins are Surinamese, and in connection with my self-taught study research, European history, I visited much of Europe. During these study trips, I naturally always had my simple hobby camera at hand. It is therefore needless to say that I saw and learned a lot. My hobby interest in photography changed, when a Greek teacher (Petros: an acquaintance) gave me a better camera as a gift
