Let me introduce myself! I am Joost from the year 1965. Married to the most beautiful woman, Nanneke, and I have 4 children and a grandson. We moved back to the Netherlands in early 2023 to start a new thread. My wife works hard (with love) and I fill my days with walking, photographing, housekeeping, cooking, working and babysitting the little one. For the past 15 years, we have lived on the Canary island of La Palma, where we ran a diving school. Fifteen years of hard work and a wonderful life on La Palma. And after 15 years it was time for something else. Living and working on La Palma, with about half the surface area of the province of Utrecht, is wonderful, but for us the island literally and figuratively became too small. We missed the culture and nature of the Netherlands and wanted to be closer to our family again. Hiking is a passion and I breathe new life into my passion for photography here. I started a long time ago with a Cosina SLR camera. With my own darkroom, I was quite busy with photo paper and chemicals. I loved experimenting. Due to various circumstances, that fire was extinguished for a while. Just before we left, I bought an Olympus e300, but due to the busy work at the diving school, I never really got around to using it. That camera soon disappeared under the dust, unfortunately, and now? Now is the time to start working with the Canon EOS 90d with a bit more free time and motivation. Above all, lots of hiking and practice. Finding walks, watching 10
