About Laimute Kuriene
A photographer whose work is shaped by a deep love of travel, nature and the silent stories hidden within everyday landscapes. Born in Lithuania and now living in The Hague for almost twenty years, she has built a life driven by curiosity, movement and a constant search for beauty in the world around her.
Travel has always been her greatest passion. Discovering different countries and cultures opened the door to a new creative path: photography. What began as a simple fascination with nature grew into a lifelong quest for visual stories. Whether she is walking through remote areas or wandering through bustling cities, she is always searching for moments where light, texture and emotion come together in a way that feels both personal and universal.
Her work has now reached an audience that extends beyond her travels. She has organised several photographic exhibitions and received international recognition. Two private visits to the Chernobyl exclusion zone inspired her first book: *Chernobyl. Three Decades After the Nuclear Disaster (ISBN: 9786094547928). Her second book, *Bring Me Some Dreams* (ISBN: 9786094549083), created in collaboration with the poet Sunni Lamin Barrow, is a poetic and visual ode to the Netherlands — the country she now calls home.
