About PIETenKEES
Eleven years ago, I, Iris Revers, started PIETenKEES. It’s named after my elderly neighbours across the road; twins who still live together in their family home.
My work has little to do with the people Piet and Kees. My heart isn’t in billiards or the vegetable garden, but in creating images. In creating. With women in the leading roles.
Sorrow and resilience, and everything in between, is what I wish to convey. My works have short titles or are untitled. I set them free without explanation. It is up to the viewer to discover and feel for themselves.
I work with acrylic paint on linen canvas. I also work with clay, fabric and wool.
