Biography
Pascale Hustings (1966) was educated at the HKU and the Fotoacademie Amsterdam. Her work combines these disciplines to create a layered visual language that combines photography, drawing and collage techniques. Her exhibitions range from two- and three-dimensional installations to artistic, self-published photo books.
Hustings' photographic series arise intuitively and explore memory, time, place and scale within an imaginary world. She uses both digital and analogue techniques, including polaroids and found images, and applies handmade methods, giving each work a unique character.
The influence of thinking in book form is evident in her series, leading to three self-published art books and several special editions. Her work has been recognised internationally with photography awards and presented at festivals and exhibitions at home and abroad.
