My name is Peter Ruijs, married and father of two children. In my free time I pay a lot of attention to photography, water polo and of course my family.
In daily life I am contract manager at Croonwolterendros Eindhoven, management & maintenance department. Here I manage, together with a team of expert colleagues, maintenance contracts in the field of industry, care, distribution and utility. Because of the daily activities that bring the necessary expertise, changes, discipline and so on, in my free time I can often find myself in nature. We live in an ecological neighborhood. When I leave the door I am in paradise! I also use the same expertise that is expected of me in my profession in photography.
My biggest passion is macro photography. The interest in the small world is enormous. Lying in nature to photograph insects, flowers, mushrooms, structures, details, abstract subjects, and so on is great. Being a person with nature and peace around me is a relaxing activity. Photographing insects is at the top of the list. It is a fascinating world! Digital photography is versatile. By applying different techniques, the possibilities are endless!
To photograph wildlife I can be found in Dutch zoos with some regularity. It seems easy to photograph the animals but appearances are deceiving because there are always annoying subjects present. The challenge is to return home with distinctive photos.
