I grew up on and near the water in Fryslân and also found my work there as an editor/reporter for regional public broadcaster Omrop Fryslân. First only for radio, but later also for TV and internet. I do this work with an extra focus on nature and therefore regularly visit very special places. Ever since I was young, I have loved the Wadden Sea and I can often be found on the Frisian coast. I have been walking and fishing in Norway every summer since I was 17, usually alone. The last 15 years I have been almost exclusively in Finnmark; the northernmost province. What I do there and even more what I see there has caused me to get serious about landscape photography. Taking photos was soon not limited to the far north and now I shoot most of it just here. Since a few years, I also work professionally with images. Among other things, I do this as a camjo (journalist with a video camera). I am also hired to supply the photos, video and text for the Marboei project of the Frisian magazine de Moanne in collaboration with recreation board de Marrekrite. In short, I am a photographer with a nose for news and an eye for scenic beauty.
