About Rosemarijn Petrie
Whilst working in education, she returned to her first love: making art.
Her work explores memory, identity, beauty and the poetry of everyday life. She works intuitively, combining expressive lines, colour and painterly gestures to capture moments that might otherwise disappear.
Her series *The 52 Shoes Project – Little Shoes, Big Memories* grew out of her farewell to the children she had taught. What began as 52 painted pairs of children’s shoes became a personal exploration of childhood, growing up and the memories we hold on to.
Working under the name Kalopsia, Rosemarijn creates paintings and stories that invite us to look at ordinary things with beautiful eyes.
