As an autonomous photographer, I have a fascination for landscapes. I don't want to make the standard pictures, but mainly want to show that you can also look at the landscape differently.
Themes that play an important role in my life and therefore in my work are tranquillity, space, unpredictability, chaos, vulnerability, strength and freedom. The Hague, the sea and the coast are in my DNA, are part of me. Therefore, coastal landscapes in particular give me the opportunity to transform my insights and thoughts into images using form, colour and time.
The landscape symbolises life changing over time; past and present intermingle as memories influence the present. Do you ever really see what is there in the moment, or is your view always influenced by your experiences?
