Hey, my name is Samuel Houcken and I live on the left bank of the Lower Rhine. After my high school graduation in 2015 I was allowed to do the Federal Voluntary Service in the North of Germany in nature conservation, where I was inspired by ornithology and photography. At first I started with long time exposures and then I developed more and more towards bird photography. Today I am involved in many areas of nature photography, although birds still appeal to me the most. I love to take pictures at the golden hour and love the play with sharpness and blur. I always try to realize my pictures with as little equipment as possible. It is always my goal to show the animals in their natural environment and to make many people aware of how beautiful and versatile the native nature is when you change your point of view.
