Tips for use

Point your camera at the floor or a piece of furniture first, then move it slowly up towards the wall. A bare white wall is hard for your phone to recognise.
Move your phone gently from side to side. Holding it still or waving it around quickly does not help.
Make sure there is enough light. In a dark room your phone has nothing to lock onto.
The artwork appears at its true size, so you cannot scale it in AR. Want a different size? Close AR and pick the size on the product page.
Still nothing? Open this page in Chrome or Safari. AR does not work in the browser of apps such as Instagram or Facebook.

About ‘A Final Farewell in Winter’ by Retrotimes

“Final Farewell in Winter” is an intriguing and slightly absurd work of art that uniquely blends humour, melancholy and alienation. In a warm, homely space, a group of snowmen stand silently around an open chest filled with meltwater—a visually powerful metaphor for transience and farewell. What was once solid and stable is slowly dissolving, surrounded by its own kind who stand by as silent witnesses.

The scene immediately evokes a sense of contrast. Contrary to the image of winter’s chill, this scene is set indoors, in an environment that suggests warmth. This reinforces the inevitable process of melting and emphasises the theme of transience. The snowmen, each with subtle differences in posture and accessories such as scarves and a hat, seem to convey emotions: sadness, contemplation, perhaps even acceptance.

The choice to place a typically playful and childlike symbol—the snowman—in a serious, almost solemn setting, gives the work a surreal quality. It balances humour and existential reflection, evoking both a smile and a moment of silence.

This artwork is perfect for lovers of conceptual and narrative art with a touch of whimsy. It adds character to any space and invites interpretation and conversation.
