This photo is from late August and you are looking at a young spider waiting on a blade of grass or a stem of weeds for prey to pass by. This one in particular caught my eye because there was just some sunlight shining on it. For most of the photos I take, I use old-fashioned photo lenses that I have to focus manually. No flash use and looking for natural light. It is amazing how often a critter stays in the same position for quite a long time, giving you as a photographer time to choose a nice angle.
