This mixed media piece started as a collage when I took part in a challenge to depict thought. I had come across a bag of mixed size zippers and thought it might be fun to work with them. So the base for this piece is a canvas with six zippers, or zips, in various stages of being open, that were glued to the canvas. Then I have written a series of thought bubbles containing words indicating what each individual zip represents. Some of the zips are wide open, some are firmly closed. To the original piece I have added a digital effect suggesting an echoe of the words and zips in negative. The interpretation is up to the viewer which makes this an interesting discussion piece for your wall.
