Castle Neuschwanstein and the little church of st. Coloman together form a beautiful duo. Typical German architecture from the late 19th century.
Photographed during a setting sun for fine exposure of these two showpieces at the foot of the Alps.
Enjoy every day a piece of history and the inspiration for the Disney castle.
The fine details and spring sunshine add flair to this work. You can almost taste the atmosphere.
The work came about when I took some quick drone shots and saw how the low-lying sun illuminated both objects beautifully. A unique opportunity I couldn't let go of.
This photo is a single shot with a telephoto lens at a fairly long distance from the church. This is a deliberate choice to get Neuschwanstein Castle a bit bigger in the picture. Thus, both objects are about the same size in this work.
