I took this photo in April 2015 at the de Haere shifting sand area near Elburg on the Veluwe. It is just a small sand drift along the A28. As you can see it was beautiful spring weather when I took this photo, you can even see the blue sky. There were some clouds even though it is not much. Before I took this picture I noticed this birch in combination with the pines, a combination that in itself is common on the Veluwe. The pines what you see in the picture are Scots pines that do well on the sand. A birch also does well on the Veluwe sand to be honest. These groups of trees form islands on a sand drift, there is always something to photograph. In the background you can see a forest edge with pine trees, except for a few birches on this piece of nature no deciduous trees.
