The red deer is found in the Netherlands on the Veluwe, in the Oostvaardersplassen, in the Weerterbos and in Het Groene Woud between Tilburg, Eindhoven and 's-Hertogenbosch. In Belgium, wild red deer are mainly found in Wallonia and relatively rare in Flanders. In Flanders they occur in the region of Voeren, on the Kempen Plateau and in the Belgian-Dutch border park Kempen-Broek. In Wallonia, their distribution is common in the Ardennes.
