The yellow dandelion, they colour so beautifully in the meadows. Just a nice spring sunshine and everything is full of them. You'd rather not have them in your garden because the long root is hard to eradicate. Its Latin name is Taraxacum officinale. Each yellow 'leaf' of the dandelion is itself a small flower, with its own pistil and stamens. So a dandelion is actually a bunch of flowers.
When the flower has finished flowering, lint balls with hundreds of seeds form. The fluff is carried with the wind like little umbrellas to start a new life elsewhere.
