A golden vein in the dark

by BBGalerie24

The piece features a richly textured, almost sculptural composition of deep, dark anthracite and black tones, interspersed with a striking golden vertical vein. On closer inspection, fine cracks, irregular edges and a rough, relief-like surface become apparent, reminiscent of ancient walls, volcanic rock or mineral layers. The golden element shimmers in varying shades and captures the light in a fascinating way.

The inspiration for this piece stemmed from a fascination with the Japanese philosophy of kintsugi – the art of mending breaks and cracks with gold to highlight the imperfect as something precious. The idea of hidden treasures lying deep within the darkness of the earth also served as inspiration for this design.

The artwork exudes a mysterious, tranquil yet luxurious atmosphere. It combines a cool, modern austerity with the warm, noble radiance of gold, creating an elegant ambience in any space.

The piece symbolises strength and steadfastness amidst change. The golden vein represents light, hope and value that can emerge even in the darkest moments or periods. It is an ode to the beauty of imperfection.

It is a highly detailed, digitally created mixed-media composition that faithfully replicates the texture of heavy trowelled plaster, gold leaf and matt acrylic paint, creating a three-dimensional sense of depth.

This artwork is a statement piece for modern, minimalist or industrial interiors. It harmonises perfectly with luxurious materials such as leather, velvet or dark wood, and is ideal for living rooms, hallways or stylish offices that could do with a touch of luxury and depth.
