A growling wolf in Germany, close-up portrait by Exclusive Photos by Erwin Floor

A wolf in profile, its lips curled back and fangs bared. It is growling, and you can feel the tension in the image. Its eyes are half-closed and every single hair in its thick coat is rendered in razor-sharp detail. The warm golden-brown and rust-red fur stands out beautifully against the deep green background.

To the right in the background, a second wolf can be seen out of focus. This makes the image more than just a portrait: it appears to be a warning to a fellow wolf, a moment from the social life of the pack. Moments like this last only a fraction of a second.

I photographed this wolf in Germany. It is a photograph full of power and character for anyone looking for a striking piece of wall art. It is suitable for a living room, study, office or hospitality venue, and looks particularly stunning in an interior featuring dark, green or natural tones.

Available as an ArtFrame™ – a modern alternative to canvas – classic canvas, a photo print with or without a frame, HD Metal or aluminium Dibond for extra sharpness and depth, clear acrylic glass, or as bespoke wallpaper.
