About ‘A pensive look’ by Rüdiger Lutz

In this black-and-white portrait, I capture a quiet moment in an urban setting. A person stands slightly leaning forward in front of a dark glass surface, wearing a light-coloured cap and holding the collar of their jacket close to their body. Their gaze is lowered and appears to be turned inwards, as if the surroundings have been momentarily shut out.

This image is inspired by those brief moments on the street when people seem to be completely at one with themselves. The focus is not on the bustle of the city, but on the retreat found right in the midst of it. The reflection in the glass pane is particularly striking: it appears as a second, dark figure, almost like a silent echo of one’s own thoughts.

The small details also shape the impact of the image: the cap sitting at an angle, the hand on the jacket collar, the soft blurring in the background and the diagonal line that divides the motif. The atmosphere is calm, cool and slightly melancholic. In an interior setting, this work functions as an expressive portrait with depth — ideal for spaces that are allowed to display personality, tranquillity and urban tension.

What are the delivery times?

At Art Heroes we do not mass produce or keep stock, but make to order. Your artwork is made with passion by experienced craftsmen and is on average ready for shipment in 7 business days. Details on the exact delivery date will be sent after placement of the order. Depending on the shipping country the following delivery times apply:

Is your order a gift for someone? We can create you a gift voucher that displays the artwork(s) you ordered, so you have something to give while the artwork is being printed. Just send us an e-mail and we’ll take care of it.

How will the package be sent?

We work with several carriers, mainly UPS and DHL (Depending on the country where it is delivered, this may vary). Couriers can also be used for large or fragile packages.

Canvas are securely packed in plastic bubble wrap and cardboard. Wallpaper and posters are sent in sturdy tubes.

A courier collects the package from us and takes the package to a depot where it usually stays overnight. The day after it is collected and delivered to your home or office. We work with courier services that specialise in handling fragile parcels.

Not at home? Then the delivery driver will leave a note and an appointment can be made to schedule a new delivery.

Unfortunately, there remains a chance that something can happen during a shipment. In the unlikely event that your parcel has been damaged during transit, please take a picture of the entire item, the damage, the entire package and a picture of the shipping label. Send these photos to us by email and we will solve the problem without delay.
