A quiet gallery featuring the classical masters

by Henk Egbertzen

An oasis of tranquillity in the history of art. A solitary visitor sits on a bench, gazing at an impressive wall filled with timeless masterpieces.
-
Take a close look at the paintings. You’ll recognise the compositions of the great masters: Da Vinci’s mysterious smile, Van Gogh’s swirling starry sky, the Girl with a Pearl Earring, and Hokusai’s mighty Wave.
- But nothing is as it seems. All the works have been reimagined with a unique, handcrafted texture. They appear to be made of earth or ancient pottery, as a modern tribute to classical painting.
- The stone floor reflects the colours of the art. The silence of the large, white hall feels almost tangible. It is a moment of wonder and of feeling small in the face of everything that came before. - This work is an absolute statement piece. It combines a profound concept with a modern, eclectic aesthetic. Perfect for an executive office, a creative workspace or a spacious living room.
-
A unique and multi-layered work of art for the art history enthusiast who appreciates the classics but also loves a bold, modern twist.
