About "A sawmill on the Zaanse Schans"

About the artwork

A very special mill on the Zaanse Schans: The Young Sheep is a six-sided, overhanging sawmill. This shape was unique among the more than 350 sawmills in the Zaan region.

The mill was built in 1680 in the Westzijderveld in Zaandam and operated there until its demolition in 1942. In 2007 the rebuilding, using 17th century building methods as much as possible, was completed at the new location at the Zaanse Schans. Since then, Het Jonge Schaap has been in use again as a sawmill. The sale of wood is the main source of income for the mill.

When the wind permits, the sawmill is hard at work. Take a look during the working day of the miller and experience what a sawmill is like. Also watch the film about the rebuilding of the mill. Everyone is welcome: Het Jonge Schaap is also accessible to the disabled.

The Zaanse Schans is 30 minutes by car from Amsterdam.

How will the package be sent?

We work with several carriers, mainly UPS and DHL (Depending on the country where it is delivered, this may vary). Couriers can also be used for large or fragile packages.

Canvas are securely packed in plastic bubble wrap and cardboard. Wallpaper and posters are sent in sturdy tubes.

A courier collects the package from us and takes the package to a depot where it usually stays overnight. The day after it is collected and delivered to your home or office. We work with courier services that specialise in handling fragile parcels.

Not at home? Then the delivery driver will leave a note and an appointment can be made to schedule a new delivery.

Unfortunately, there remains a chance that something can happen during a shipment. In the unlikely event that your parcel has been damaged during transit, please take a picture of the entire item, the damage, the entire package and a picture of the shipping label. Send these photos to us by email and we will solve the problem without delay.
