I took this photo on the Beekhuizerzand near Harderwijk on the Veluwe. The stump what you see is from a Scots pine which does grow on the Veluwe, it stands near a viewpoint overlooking the sandy plain. To get to this spot, I took my bicycle, as this stump stands next to a cycle path. To take this photo, I put my camera on a tripod and also used 2 reporter flash units, the tripod my camera was on was on the lowest position. Even though I used 2 reporter flash units, the shutter speed was quite slow. By using the reporter flashes, the stump comes loose from the background I could also get some texture in the sky. Furthermore, I chose to convert this photo to black and white.
