Decades ago, the port area of Düsseldorf was a major center of activity. Ships unloaded their cargoes or shipped the materials that came from nearby factories. With the closure of some of those factories, the ports seemed to have had their day and I decayed. Until an ambitious plan was launched to transform this port area into a contemporary center for commerce, living, working and architecture. This photo shows three building complexes designed by American architect Frank O. Gehry. Together they form an important landmark within the city of Düsseldorf. The northernmost complex is built in white, the middle one in metallic color and the southern complex in red brick. Because the middle complex is clad with stainless steel on the outside, the building takes on a different appearance in different light. Especially the reflection of the sun just before sunset can create beautiful effects. The project is also known in Düsseldorf as Neuer Zollhof. You can also see the iconic Rheinturm and the rest of Düsseldorf's skyline in this photo. Would you also like to have this unique photo? Don't hesitate and order it quickly!
