In the Urbex scene, the group that seeks out and visits abandoned buildings, this location is known as Puit Simon. It is an abandoned and derelict coal mine, one of the most important in the Lorraine basin in the French Moselle region. The buildings date from the early twentieth century and the architecture is truly magnificent, with the large semi-circular window being the eye-catcher in this room.
