Aboard a sailing ship. the pulleys and the ropes. The shingles and the lines. A solitary cobweb the strands of ropes and a mast.
The details aboard a sailing ship are enormous. There are so many details to see and photograph. The pulleys that guide the ropes to hoist the sails and or tighten the rigging. and or adjust the sails for the course or sail sharper to windward.
The nostalgic look of a sailing ship on a summer evening. The ship moored at the dock of the harbor. This nostalgic image calls for black and white in the photograph. The character of the veins in the pulley draw so beautifully together with the strands of the ropes.
Raw and the harbor as it is the people who work there. The images I see there I like to photograph because it is art in itself. The harbor is another world. The landscape of the harbor is always changing. The ships the people the landscape it continues to fascinate me.
