A group of men and women are coming from the land where they worked, farmers who worked on the harvest or other work of agriculture. Carrying musical instruments and a wagon with two pack animals, cattle, probably both an ox, the workers walk happily along a path home.
In the background a town with a bay under a blue sky.
Albert Flamm (April 9, 1823 in Cologne, North Rhine-Westphalia, Germany; March 28, 1906 in Düsseldorf) was a German painter of the Düsseldorf School. From 1836 to 1838, the artist studied architecture (construction) at the Düsseldorf Academy of Arts and in Antwerp. In 1848, Flamm was one of the founders of the artists' association Malkasten. The painter painted mainly Italian landscapes, which have gained recognition for their truth of nature, luminous colours and virtuoso treatment.
