About ‘After the rain’ by Peter Bartelings

You are looking at an atmospheric and dramatic beach photo, which focuses on the power of nature. In the foreground, a clump of beach grass grows, firmly rooted in the sand, bent under the influence of a strong wind. The background shows a wide, deserted North Sea beach stretching to the rough, foaming surf of the sea. Above it, heavy, threatening clouds dominate the sky, with a blue opening here and there offering light in the bleak landscape.

The composition is thoughtful: the beach grass not only gives a sense of movement, but also serves as a visual anchor point in the otherwise empty landscape. The contrast between the dark sky and the light sand enhances the dramatic effect of the picture. This work evokes feelings of tranquillity, solitude and, at the same time, man's futility in the face of the powerful elements.

About the image maker: as a born and bred Amsterdammer, Peter feels a close connection to the city of Amsterdam. Over the years, he has captured the city of Amsterdam in many iconic works. Other cities at home and abroad also fill his portfolio. Landscape and macro photography are also part of his work.

What are the delivery times?

At Art Heroes we do not mass produce or keep stock, but make to order. Your artwork is made with passion by experienced craftsmen and is on average ready for shipment in 7 business days. Details on the exact delivery date will be sent after placement of the order. Depending on the shipping country the following delivery times apply:

Is your order a gift for someone? We can create you a gift voucher that displays the artwork(s) you ordered, so you have something to give while the artwork is being printed. Just send us an e-mail and we’ll take care of it.

How will the package be sent?

We work with several carriers, mainly UPS and DHL (Depending on the country where it is delivered, this may vary). Couriers can also be used for large or fragile packages.

Canvas are securely packed in plastic bubble wrap and cardboard. Wallpaper and posters are sent in sturdy tubes.

A courier collects the package from us and takes the package to a depot where it usually stays overnight. The day after it is collected and delivered to your home or office. We work with courier services that specialise in handling fragile parcels.

Not at home? Then the delivery driver will leave a note and an appointment can be made to schedule a new delivery.

Unfortunately, there remains a chance that something can happen during a shipment. In the unlikely event that your parcel has been damaged during transit, please take a picture of the entire item, the damage, the entire package and a picture of the shipping label. Send these photos to us by email and we will solve the problem without delay.
