The Royal Air Force's AH-64 Apache is a paragon of power, precision and agility. In this photo, you can see the combat platform skimming low over the field, rotor blades fading with speed, the fuselage pointed tightly and aggressively towards the horizon. The armament under the wings, the sensors on top of the rotor and the dark silhouette against the sky give the Apache its distinctive look. You can almost feel the vibrations of the rotor through the ground, the distinctive sound you hear even before you see it. For me as a photographer, this is the ultimate moment, where technology, military might and movement come together in a tense but controlled image. The Apache is more than a helicopter, it is an icon of modern air force capability.
