A nice view of the multi-coloured building the Colorium. The multicoloured 2200 glass panels make the Colorium building look like a tall block box. The sloping roof structure is also unusual. It was designed by British architect William Alsop Allen. The building has 17 floors and has been converted into a hotel since 2013.
More in front, you can see the coloured Ratschlag figures on the facade. The Düsseldorf Ratschlag figures are a fun local symbol that you see popping up here and there in many colours. They refer to the wheel turn made by children as an expression of joy after the battle of Worringen (1288) that was won.
I have been photographing since my youth. When I was 18 I bought a second hand Minolta XE-5 and after that I bought more. I have always been loyal to Minolta and later Sony. All the cameras and lenses I ever bought I kept.
