St. John's Cathedral has stood in the heart of Den Bosch for more than 800 years, making it one of the important monuments in our country. Like most churches, the Gothic basilica, replete with ornamentation, is characterized by symmetrical construction. This image, taken from bottom to top, takes that symmetry as its starting point. Symmetry exudes tranquility in images of architecture; in this case, dynamism is added by the angle of shot. By using high-end lighting techniques, the stained glass windows are also clearly visible. The eye-catcher in this image is the "all-seeing eye", also called by some the "Eye of God". It is a fresco in the ridge of the roof, almost right above the altar.
