When I took this photo, I was particularly struck by how the light broke through between the trees. Moments like that always attract me: bright, calm and yet full of movement. It is exactly the kind of atmosphere in which I think and work best myself.

My name is Jorien. In 2020 I started with photography and also at the same time learning how to edit photos. My hobby is to first take a photo myself and then edit it into a painting. Sometimes by combining with elements of paintings from the Rijksmuseum and often by getting inspired in other areas. I find the way the old masters played with light in their paintings inspiring and I try to apply this in my own photographs as well.
