This beautiful bridge is located on the west side of the Rosarium in the Vondelpark. In the picture you can see how detailed the cast-iron balustrades are and you can recognise the wooden deck of the bridge. It was designed in 1876 by architect Willem Hamer Jr. and was declared a monument in 1996.
A referendum led to the bridge being named after the sociologist Norbert Elias.
It has something nostalgic and delicate about it and is reminiscent of times long gone...
